TOKYO (Kyodo) -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.5 jolted northeastern Japan on Monday but there were no fears of tsunami, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries from the 3:26 p.m. quake that centered on Aomori Prefecture at a depth of around 10 kilometers.
It registered lower 5 on the Japanese seismic scale of 7 in the southeast of the prefecture and 4 in Hachinohe and other places.
